Crew Vacancies.

WIT Crew 2007

As a member of the WIT Festival crew you will be part of the team that creates this unique event. We won’t pretend that it isn’t hard work; because it is, but the reward of working as part of a great team of women and seeing the festival come together makes it all worth while. You will have a working ticket which enables you to enjoy everything the festival has to offer when you are not working your shift.Area Coordinator jobs usually require previous experience at the festival; but do please ask if you think you have the particular skills for one of those jobs. Please note also that crew jobs are largely intended for women who could not afford to attend otherwise. If you can easily afford to pay for a ticket then perhaps you would consider donating to our Gift Ticket fund.

Dates

The dates for WIT 2007 are 22nd-28th August. Setup starts a week before (15th), and take-down ends 31st. If you are working set up you will need to arrive on 15th/16th August. If you are working Festival Only or Festival and Takedown you will still need to be able to arrive by the evening of Monday 20th August. The 21st August is a day of orientation and getting to know your team and coordinator and it is essential that all crew are present. The night of the 28h August will be an optional stay over for everyone and is the night when the crew will get to really kickback and unwind a bit, so even if you are finishing your work duties on the 28th, you may want to plan to stay over that night. This year you can again choose between working the Festival only or with either setup or takedown but if you do the Festival only you will either work longer hours at the event (6 hours per day instead of 4) or contribute £30 towards your meals. The full range of options is set out in the table below:

Children

As at the Festival, all girls are welcome on site as are boys of 5 or under. There is no separate childcare facility during setup or takedown so you will need to ensure that you can work as needed with your children around. When the Festival is running girls of 6 and over are catered for in the girls and teens area and the crèche is open during workshop hours for the younger children. This may make a difference to which work team you apply for as some are more easily scheduled around crèche hours than others. Call me if you need to discuss this.

Dogs

During the Festival dogs are NOT allowed on site, with the exception of Assistance Dogs.

Job Descriptions

The job you apply for is your Festival job, during setup week and takedown the roles are less defined and you will have to be fairly flexible about what you do. The table below explains what the jobs are, how many are required and a brief job description.
Please note: if the job you would like has been taken please still list it on your application form as there are sometimes last minute cancellations and that job may become available again.
