WIT Special Event - Recycled Ball

Print Email

WIT special events are on from late afternoon to early evening.

This year we have three WIT special events lined up! One of them is a Recycled Ball giving us a chance to get creative with our ballgowns (or maybe dust off the tux?), There will definitely lots of dancing at this event :)
Before it takes place Barbara Harrington will present her Loosely Ballroom - Latin American and Ballroom Dance workshop so those who are inclined will be  ready to glitter and glide later at the Recycled Ball.

Barbara Harrington

Everyone, regardless of whether they have attended the workshop will be welcome at the Recycled Ball & Cocktail Party!

This is your opportunity to slide into your glide; dress to thrill; glam it up in glitter! Strut in your tux & shuffle those soft shoes! (Killer heels at your own risk!)

In the web site extract below are some great examples of ballgowns made from recycled materials

The first dress is made from tetrapak drinks containers, the blue one is made from plastic bags!

Our outfits might not come out quite like that ;) but it's inspiring stuff!

The other WIT special events this year are:

  • A Twmpath - which is a Welsh style ceilidh. We are having with a tea party with it (and that means yummy cakes!), we are also looking into the possibilty of some Twmpath dancing (If you know a woman who can lead a workshop in Twmpath dancing please ask her to get in touch).
  • And Women through Herstory which is another dressing up event, we are cooking up some fun and games for that one too!
